Turkish Studies Lecturer - University of Florida

Job Description: The University of Florida Center for European Studies is seeking a nine-month, non-tenure accruing lecturer position with the possibility of annual renewal in European and International Studies to be filled beginning Fall 2015. This position is in Turkish Language and Turkish Areas Studies. The teaching assignment will be 4 courses in Fall and 4 courses in Spring semesters. The position will be equally shared, 50/50 between the Center for European Studies and the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences' International Studies major. The appointment is to meet the instructional needs of the FLAS Turkish language and Turkish Studies Program and the College's International Studies major. Applicants will be expected to teach: INS4930 INS3004 EUS3938 Advanced Turkish, each semester Three Turkish area studies courses in alternating semesters CES Introductory course and/or a graduate European Studies course The successful candidate will also conduct robust outreach to encourage the development of Turkish Studies at the University of Florida. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and includes a full benefits package.
Minimum Requirements: PhD in related field
Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching Turkish language and Turkish area studies courses. Evidence of successful outreach and program building of Turkish Studies.
